Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP)
Fisk University's proposed Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP) is Tech Promise: Computational Thinking across the curriculum. In this initiative, the students of all majors will take a course related to computational thinking in Freshman year.
National Data Science Alliance - South Central Hub
The National Data Science Alliance (NDSA) is a coalition of more than 100 Historically Black College Universities committed to the long-term to enhance the proportion of Black people who achieve data science credentials, such as minors, certifications, and degrees at the undergraduate, graduate, and post-baccalaureate levels.
Resources
The CORE Curriculum provides a pedagogical framework for students to develop their skills in becoming competent, resourceful, global leaders. The curriculum explicitly teaches critical thinking in the humanities and social and natural sciences. The curriculum reinforces respect for diverse viewpoints and ethical values in the academy. Students develop effective problem solving skills for addressing real world problems, and intellectual humility through service learning. Students engage in quantitative and qualitative research in the natural sciences, social sciences and humanities as they understand the complexities of the human condition.

We have designed a Sample Syllabus with selected elements of an effective syllabus, as well as recommended language related to University policies and resources for students. Although it is a syllabus for a particular course, the format can be adapted to probably most any other courses.
The Fisk University Substantive Change Compliance Policy applies to each academic unit and department within Fisk and is mandatory. Within academic areas, such changes can originate with (1) individual or groups of faculty members, (2) department committees, (3) Department Chairs, (4) Deans, (5) Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs, (6) Faculty Assembly, or (7) any other area reporting to the Provost.
